To further my understanding of geometry nodes and how it can work in tandem with shaders and generators I started up a tutorial pack from Ducky 3d. This was the first completely project on his tutorial list. Instead of going to complete route laid out for us I decided to add my own spin to the final project look. I am continuing my exploration into NPR (Non-photorealistic renders) and learning its further applications and limitations.

Project Breakdown

Geometry node tree breakdown. I actually came back to this project after originally finishing it. I found a way to make the shadow work on each individual instance of the sigular cute I was using. This change in node setup resulted in each block being able to cast is own individual shadow based off of the position of the light used on the scene (to see a better visual example of this see project "This Looks Like Joy").

Shader node tree setup. This allowed for the object emission to change position over the block instance based on the position on the block relative to the Z-Axis. If you watch the video carefully you can see how the black emission changes as they move up and down.

Example of block color changing relative to the Z-Axis.
